EWA.net Unknown Lan ID

This error occurs because the software cannot clearly read the MAC address (LAN ID) of your network card. Virtual or hidden network cards are usually the cause.

Uninstall hidden/virtual network adapters (most common cause)

  1. Open Device Manager:
Right-click on "This PC" → Manage → Device Manager

  2. Show hidden devices:
Click on View → Show hidden devices

  3. Uninstall the following drivers (if present):
Go to Network adapters → Right-click on each entry → Uninstall device:

    • All entries containing "WAN Miniport"

    • "Microsoft ISATAP Adapter"

    • "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface"

    • "Microsoft 6to4 Adapter"

  4. RESTART your computer

Keep only one network card active

  • Disable Wi-Fi if you are using LAN (and vice versa)

  • Disable VPN adapters (e.g., Cisco, NordVPN)

  • Disable virtual box adapters (e.g., VirtualBox Host-Only)

Manually enter LAN ID in the registry

  1. Windows + R → regedit → Enter

  2. Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Mercedes-Benz\WIS\

  3. Create a new String value:

    • Name: FixedLanId

    • Value: Your MAC address without hyphens (e.g., A1B2C3D4E5F6)

  4. Restart WIS/EPC

How to find the correct MAC address (LAN ID)

  1. Windows + R → cmd → Enter

  2. In the black window type:
    ipconfig /all
