Xentry / DAS

Xentry is the official diagnostic software developed by Daimler AG for vehicles of the brands Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Maybach, and partially also FUSO. It is used for fault diagnosis, coding, control unit programming, maintenance, and repair. The name “Xentry” stands for “Entry into the vehicle’s system” and reflects the capability to deeply access the electronic systems of the vehicle.

Xentry enables complete diagnostics of all Mercedes-Benz vehicles from model year 1989 onwards.
The system includes a developer mode, providing extended functions.
The DAS diagnosis system can also be run as a standalone version without Xentry.
A simulation mode is supported.

Before Xentry was introduced, diagnostic processes at Mercedes-Benz were carried out using tools such as HHT (Hand-Held Tester) and DAS (Diagnostic Assistance System). However, with increasing digitalization and the growing complexity of vehicles, the need arose for a modern, flexible, and powerful system. Xentry gradually replaced DAS and has been continuously developed since then.

WIS – Workshop Information System

The Workshop Information System provides all technical descriptions in the form of repair and maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and much more—needed for effective maintenance or repair services on Mercedes-Benz and Smart vehicles (WIS).
It also delivers data related to workshop orders in the form of labor and standard texts, labor times, and work values (ASRA).
WIS and ASRA are two standalone applications that can be used either separately or in combination.

EPC – Electronic Parts Catalog

The Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) helps you quickly find all parts needed for maintenance and repair. You can save or print your parts lists directly.
Includes integrated price lists as of November 2018 (currency: Euro).

Vediamo

Vediamo is like a deep breath in the Mercedes workshop software universe—an internal development and diagnostic tool that can do far more than standard service programs. Here’s a practical overview of what Vediamo fundamentally enables:

  • Deep control unit diagnostics: It can access almost every control unit individually, read, test, and monitor states that normal diagnostic software does not allow. It’s like opening the “back panel” of the vehicle and watching the electronics think.

  • Variant coding & function activation: Vediamo allows modification of variant coding—enabling or disabling functions that are hardware-present but software-disabled. From comfort features to assistance system settings, much is accessible if compatible hardware is present.

  • Flashing control units: Software versions can be updated, or new firmware installed. This is a powerful tool that opens doors to deep system layers but requires care since flashing directly affects critical vehicle systems.

  • Developer modes & expert functions: Vediamo provides access to development data blocked in normal diagnostic programs. This includes test functions, parameter tables, extended diagnostic blocks, and raw data—a little electronics lab in your laptop.

  • Access to non-standard diagnostic paths: Many components or functions only partially accessible in Xentry can be fully controlled here. It’s often the key tool for special cases, retrofits, or non-standard troubleshooting.

  • Automated processes & scripting: Sequences allow automation of procedures—helpful for recurring tests, calibrations, or coding processes.

DTS Monaco

DTS Monaco is the official diagnostic software used by Daimler-Benz development engineers. It serves as a universal engineering test terminal for diagnosis and control functions of vehicle systems. The name “Monaco” stands for “Modular Analyzer for Vehicle Communication.”

Main features of DTS Monaco:

  • Quick test: Enables a fast test of all vehicle control units (ECUs) and allows selection of specific tests for further analysis.

  • Variant coding: Supports adding or removing vehicle equipment (SA codes) and allows adjustment of control unit parameters.

  • ID recognition: Reads all modules in the vehicle with one click and saves their programming numbers.

  • Complete variant coding: Enables reading all ECU coding data once and rewriting it back to the vehicle, fully offline.

  • Diagnostic functions: Offers advanced features such as displaying internal and external data modules, activating ECUs, resetting ECUs, and modifying original VINs.

  • Flash programming: Supports fully offline programming processes.

  • Fault code diagnosis: Reads and analyzes module fault codes (DTCs).

  • ECU exchange: Allows data transfer between two identical ECUs by reading and importing data.

  • Symbolic tracing: Records and traces files to analyze error logic upon repeated review.

DTS Monaco provides comprehensive functions and is an essential tool for development, testing, and preparation of diagnostic procedures in production and service.

Software / Hardware infos

You will receive the software including key generators so that you can activate the software for yourself without any restrictions.

You need a multiplexer / SDConnect. This hardware serves as a communication interface between the computer and the vehicle. We do not offer the hardware because shipping from Switzerland would be too expensive due to customs.

We advise you to install the software on a newly installed Windows distribution and to use this device exclusively for diagnostics. Deactivate antivirus and defender when installing and using the software. Stay offline to avoid problems during installation or diagnostics.
